And of course, today's it's not

I'm waiting impatiently for my new purse. It's in France as of the 29th. Just not here.

Hanes has my boy boxers on sale.

My eBay bucks are ready and have to be spent within 30 days.

I WANT TO SHOP!

The thing I need here is a wheeled 26" suitcase so I can go home.

Create~a~Day is going wonderfully!

I have writ at least three new poems and rewrote three others. Plus doing some good work on The Book of Dia.

It's not even 2011 yet. Damn I hope this continues. I hope to get BOD in fighting shape, then I can work on some of the plays I have in
mind.

Pride and Prejudice ... kinda. AND NO KEIRA KNIGHTLY! YAY!

Create~a~Day!

My New Years resolution won't be so vague this year. It's CREATE~a~Day! I should create daily. Worked on The Book of Dia (chaps 1-8 straightened out this morning). Wrote poem yesterday, "Sugar," which made me get out of bed to write more on it. I have some blank watercolor postcards, & watercolors, so I should have something to send home.

Maybe life without sunshine won't seem so grim if I have a great life indoors!

Weather

Went to find one picture of gloomy weather...

found more...

and still more .

Truly starting to get to me. There is no light through my windows until after 8 am, and then it's begrudgingly. Ms thing upstairs just got home. It's 7:54 am. Still not light out.

I have seasonal depression but it's a depression nonetheless. At this time, recognizing it and dealing with it are separate matters. Let you know when one resolves the other.

There's this goofy article: Gloomy weather boosts the brain, claim Australian scientists Filed under There'll always be an England.

With this amazing tidbit: The research discovered that the worse the weather and the more depressed the individual, the sharper their brain.

I'll have to study the article for clues.

Believe it or not

I am bidding on a red leather purse on eBay. Seller says they'll ship for $32. USD. It's only $8.99 at this moment, but you know I'll obsess and bid the heck out of it.

Vintage.

My itching is damn near out of control. My hair is dry and like straw. And when I asked the pharmacist for multi-vitamins, she gave me the ones for seniors. My life is over.

Am now wearing my loud pink hooded Tucson sweatshirt with aplomb. I am sick of seeing BLACK all the time! Besides, I'm old. But I can still see purple.

Parisians smoke A LOT. The creeps upstairs came down and smoked outside my door. I miss smoking. I chose breathing... fair trade?

Still no sun.

Still no sunshine

Down rue Sevres

God I miss smoking...

The Chocolat store is across rue Servres at the end of my block.

This is the Patissier at the end of rue Rousellet. I may not be going so much anymore. Haven't had pistachio eclairs since that first time.

UB & I laughed

When we first saw the "WC" - a water closet! But the joke was on e because I have to lift the lid with on hand and pull my pants et al and sit. I just know there'll come a time...

Wood burning fire place smell! And once again, the battle over me doing my laundry! Just do the damn laundry!

Shhh! Don't tell anyone...

Especially my negative voice, but I actually worked on the Book of Dia AND my Catacombs screenplay, which as of now has no name!

What's sad is that with my asthma and COPD, I'll probably never get to descend into the catacombs. What would be cool is to meet up with an artist who could replicate the graffiti, the contours and construction, the failed and successful joists. Like I know what I'm talking about.

Tomorrow, I venture forth to find the laundry mat.

It's loud

Asshole neighbor with elephant foot has a stereo with serious bass/reverb. It's 7:14 pm, but I can't take it. I'll be back to ear plugs. Not happy.

It's not that cold

But damn it's wet. Rain/Snow, pick 'em.

I am not doing anything. The guy/girl upstairs walks like an elephant with a boom box (funny mental image.) I go out, but it's toget something to eat. Great patisserie at the corner: eclair pistacche and pizza (very fresh tasting) and there are hot dogs!!!! Next trip.

This is my courtyard

Doorway & two windows past the bike are mine.

Also in the courtyard:

Table belongs to Bistro to the left of courtyard, the storefront.

Yes, it's raining.

Luggage came @ 9pm Friday

I'm sleeping til noon, which bothers me. Think it's jet lag, and the emotion of losing baggage, etc.

Still haven't bought my first baguette. Beautiful plenty of marvelous shops. I spoke Spanish today at one. Meant to say "deux" and I said "dos".

Ok, here's what happened:

DELTA Tucson - Atlanta = 2 hours late

Missed PARIS Flight by 20 minutes, but via benevolent ticket goddess, I learn what comes with being in a wheelchair: FIRST IN LINE EVERYWHERE!

Delta sucked big time. Hundreds (not kidding) of passengers were lined up at the CS station, lines looped all through the taped lines and down the hall.

Cripples go first. Talk about cutters! I was wheeled straight to the front of the line! After this old chick in a WC.

So I had the brilliant idea (actually, one of my "pushers" told me this great idea) to go to LONDON and over to PARIS. Brilliant! I'd be here at 6:00!

The London flight was delayed 2 hours, WHICH WAY OK BECAUSE I HAD 2 hours to take off for PARIS!!!!!

It's amazing how idiotic anal and asinine planes are. LONDON flight was delayed because of a toilet problem.

But the LONDON-PARIS flight took the prize: we were waiting for a piece of luggage (remember that), there was a "small" maintenance problem, a light bulb blew on the runway.

We took off about 7pm. Called Olivier my landlord that I'd be there as soon as I got my luggage and contacted Paris Blue shuttle.

You've already guessed, right? Yeah, they lost my luggage.

Or rather it took the flight I turned down, a night at a hotel and the same flight I missed. I was already in London by the time my luggage took the later flight.

I wanted to run screaming to the ticket counter to go "home" which is a storage locker in Tucson. Damn! I was off my meds too!

Here's why:

The luggage was found, Air France would deliver it, I got 100. euros to spend on new clothes (I don't even had underwear) AND

AND

AND

The Paris Blue shuttle came at 10pm (or sometime after) and I was treated to the MOST AMAZING and DARING drive down the cobbled streets of PARIS, harepin turns, nimble pedestrians... it was fabulous! ALL IN THE DARK!

It's a flicking beautiful city. Colors are more themselves and then some. Blue lights reverberate. Every store has huge windows, walls of windows instead of brick and mortar.

What a fab place!!!!
